Just one example of the mad idiocies of this movie. Guy drops wallet, stranger picks it up, holds it just out of his reach, and GOES THROUGH IT making snarky comments on the contents?

This is an adorable woman? These are two people I want to see together?

Practically every scene they had together (or with their fiancees) was this bad. These dumped fiancees grinning through everything, all the flirtatious conversation that utterly lacks wit or sincerity!

I'd imagine the fact that she wasn't fawning over him like every other woman on the boat appealed to him and initially drew him to her.

And she needs proof that it's his; that's why she reads the inscription and then has him translate it into non-vulgar English.

She was on her way to turn it in to the purser, who would have done the same thing.
