IMDB Goof not really a goof

per goofed:

"Before Holmes is knifed in the chest, he had to grab a flare as the gun was out of bullets. However, when the rescue ship got close, Sparky shot the gun off."


That is not really a goof, you see the executive officer tyrone power said he did have some bullets left for this gun but he did not have time to reload as that other man was going to throw a knife at him so it was quicker to just use the flare gun then after all that was done, he was able to load his gun once again which they used to alert the oncoming ship that they needed rescue.
