the chicken , the music and the actors

What happened to the chicken that Frank Puglia placed in the cage early in the film. When he placed the Ymir in the cage, there is no chicken.

There is an unfair comment in one of the documentaries in which the actors are dismissed as terrible. Several familiar faces besides William Hopper include Thomas Browne Henry, Frank Puglia and Arthur Space. I vaguely remeber Joan Taylor on THE RIFLEMAN, one of Sam Peckinpah's early credits.

Strangely enough nothing is said on the commentary about Mischa Baleniakov(?) who must have had an astounding list of credits. I just watched CODY OF THE PONY EXPRESS a few days ago which recycles his main theme from OVERLAND WITH KIT CARSON. I have two compilations of Republic's serial themes and the two tracks from THE LONE RANGER serials.Much of the music is similary recycled.

When I took a film class a few years ago, I mentioned three films I'd watched during a discussion of film music: STAR WARS IV, THE HIGH AND THE MIGHTY and ZORRO'S FIGHTING LEGION. Three very different films where the music is very important.
