79.99

that seems like a little much

There are two seasons being released. Season 1 is $41.99 on Amazon and Season 2 is the same. That adds up to 83.98. That is a little high, but people will pay it for the limited edition of Zorro. That show probably is the favorite Disney show of most people. I think $30 per set would have been nice.

Compared to some more recently released TV-DVDs $80 for both seasons can seem a little on the pricey side.

But I think it only fair that we should also consider that Disney did more than just slap some B&W masters onto DVD.

According to the press release [read more here: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Zorro-Seasons-1-and-2/11858] Disney:

-Restored & Remastered in High Definition. IE a Blu-Ray release could be forthcoming, but a new restored HD master means even the the DVD version will look better still.

-two 60 minute Zorro specials in each set [these are the 4 one hour episodes that were made after & aired after the end of season 2]

-introductions by Leonard Maltin [likely one for each set/season]

-"all new never before seen bonus" [more extras/featurettes/etc. ?]

I think I'm going to pre-order these -- I didn't order the Disney's DVD release of Dr. Syn: The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh and now it's OOP and costs an arm and a leg to buy.
