I agree, RIP, thank you for all your memorable performances both on the small screen and in the theater.

reply

RIP. Never heard of that until today.

I agree. RIP.

I didn't know about it, either, until I logged on here. I liked his character on Wagon Train a lot. Kept the train moving, had a rugged exterior that earned respect, and wasn't afraid to right the wrongs physically or with his gun. He will be surely missed.

Sad that so many of these stars have been dying this year. R.I.P., Robert "Flint McCullough" Horton. BTW, I think Robert Fuller ("Cooper Smith") is actually the last surviving major cast member. Michael Burns ("Barnaby West") is still living, but he was more of a supporting cast member. Robert Horton, however, was the last surviving original cast member of Wagon Train. Not too many major stars left from the old westerns, sadly...

Clint Walker, Robert Fuller and Hugh O'Brian are still with us. Michael Forrest and Wright King are also still with us...and although neither had their own series they appeared quite often during the golden age of TV westerns.

Peter Brown just passed away in March.

reply

Hugh O'Brian has now died as well. Hope no others have passed lately.

Buck Taylor, also.

No blah, blah, blah!

He was also great on the 1 season only show " A Man Called Shenandoah". Too bad it wasn't on longer.

I found an old 1961 This Is Your Life on You Tube about Robert Horton. That was the show where Ralph Edwards would surprise a person at their home and bring them to the studio where important people in their life would be introduced. It had his brother and parents and his new wife Marilynn who had married him 3 months earlier on New Year's Eve 1960. They were married over 56 years when he died.

Since I had only seen him in black & white TV I was surprised to find out he had red hair!

I find it really sad that when George Kennedy passed away Encore Western Channel announced it by doing a sort of tribute to him for about a week or so by showing different roles he played and his birth and death years. But yet when Robert Horton passed away, there was not even a mention of him. He was a great actor and very much loved by a lot of people. Not even his picture was shown and no mention of his different roles or that he passed away... How utterly sad.. Such a great loss too.. Rest in Peace Mr. Robert Horton, you are missed
