Culp pointed out something very interesting about Zane Grey Theater in the intro to the book that was written about I Spy (that intro, incidentally, was probably the closest thing to an autobiography of Culp, sadly). He mentioned that all the episodes of Zane Grey Theater were intended to serve as pilots for series.
