people do this all the time now. they try to apply what they live today to a generation of people they never knew or met.could you picture kennedy and nixon being asked in a t.v.debate about birth control and condoms? the more you hear this the sillier it is.

I see this excuse all the time, "It' was a different time, a different generation." Dancing a jig because you've heard a man has been assassinated is pretty damn shameful, I don't care what generation you're from.
I'd hate to think it's true as well, but I have heard the same story.

did he dance a jig? i don't know personally. i wasn't there.

He was one of the most rightwing players in Hollywood. In 1968 he and Chill Wills supported George Wallace for president and 1972 Brennan supported John Schmitz who ran on
the Wallace American Independent Party as president.

I knew that about Wills.

One of my favorite alltime TV moments is when Wills accidentally cuts his throat with a futuristic scalpel in a Night Gallery episode.

wallace won michigan in the primary.we were not all racist.

I agree not all those who voted for Wallace were racists. However, it can be said that they were folks who were comfortable having a racist as POTUS.

Slavery was from a different time. That doesn't make any less horrible the condition of slavery. Those that try and justify low life activities as what Brennan said or did, are in reality racist as well. Emmitt Till hung and burnt. Aww that's okay it's a different time.
