Did they ever do one...?

... Where Perry himself was accused of the murder, and had to have someone else defend him?

reply

No. But he was accused of tampering with evidence a few times, and bribing a juror once. He once defended [friend or family] of Hamilton Burger as a favor upon Burger's request.

Did they ever do one where his client was actually guilty, and was acquitted thanks to Mason finding some technicality?

And why did "the real villain" always confess in court after Mason outed him? Just deny it and lawyer up. A lot of times the proof was rather flimsy. I can't recall any real world cases where the defense attorneys identified the real perpetrator so the jury would acquit their guy, but it happened every week on this show.

I have seen ONE episode where his client was guilty. I can't remember the name of it. I remember it being pretty shocking at the time.
