I'm always checking the credits for future stars

I remember watching the credits of one episode and after seeing Robert Redford's name, backed it up to find him and sure enough, there he was. Same with Robert Conrad. Kind of fun to see future stars with small roles. I'm sure there were many others.

I like looking at the credits as well, especially when I want to put a name with the familiar face of a character actor.

Not many actors go on to achieve Redford's fame, but these are a few other future movie or TV stars that appeared in Maverick:

Clint Eastwood was in "Duel at Diablo"

Roger Moore was in "The Rivals" and then became a regular as Beau Maverick

Joel Grey, an Oscar-winning singer and dancer, played Billy the Kid in "Full House"

Adam West was in several episodes, such as "Pappy"

Troy Donahue was also in "Pappy"

Lee Van Cleef was in "Red Dog"

Dan Blocker played Hog-Nose Hughes in "The Jail at Junction Flats"

Buddy Ebsen, Max Baer, and Nancy Kulp were all in episodes prior to starring in
"The Beverly Hillbillies"

Connie Stevens was in "Two Tickets to Ten Strike"

Jeanne Cooper, a soap mainstay for 40 years on "The Young and the Restless," was in two episodes, and boy did she look different.

Actors such as Alan Hale, Dawn Wells, Chad Everett, John Russell, Peter Brown, Edd Byrnes, John Astin, and Werner Klemperer (without the Col. Klink accent) were in episodes prior to starring in TV shows.
