Lost Watch

I saw this again today and have a question. Lumpy was not a good person. He figured he had misplaced his watch and when all the kids gave Beaver their stuff to tend he could pretend he did too. He was too afraid to tell Daddy he lost his watch. He actually terrorized Beaver so much Beaver was willing to "deem" his bond and get $15. He was so scared he felt he had to pay for the lost watch. Why was Ward so lenient with him when he came to apologize. Did you notice June wasn't around. Was she busy sharpening her carving knife and he left before she could use it? Wasn't Ward rather docile with him he had tried to extort money from a child.

I agree: Ward was way, way, way, way, wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too easy on Lumpy considering the terror that Lumpy inflicted upon Beaver.

I think Ward should have called the cops and had Lumpy arrested.

reply

Me too. I would have let June take care of him. No wonder she was missing in action Ward could not have been responsible for her actions.
