Bandstand episode 6/5/82

The rock/pop group "The Motels" were the musical guests on American Bandstand on 6/5/82. The first song played on that episode was the Human League "Don't You want me Baby". The show was packed with dancers since that would be the first day of the 1982 American Bandstand dance contest. There were many AB regulars in attendance, for example a blond guy named Robby, Christopher Lawrence, Peaches Johnson (from the 70's) Rob Frias etc. Then the dancers danced to Ray Parker Jr.'s "I'm in love with another woman". The dance contest was fun, and it show a wide range of dancing from Disco to New Wave.

they are probably in New York at ABCs headquarters. I would think they are stored on u-matic tapes, which are not the easiest to transfer from. I work at a large TV archive here in Miami, and we have all of WPLGs local Bandstand for South Florida, but ABC most likely has the original national version. this means Disney now holds the rights to the original national series. I dont think you will get far, working at an archive myself, i know how hard it can be for solo parties to get ahold of old TV footage. But you can try ABC/Disney Distribution
