Rhonda Fleming was a big girl

I'm talking about the scene where she's exercising behind the sheet and you could see her shadow. Now, when I saw the size of that shadow, I started to laugh because I was thinking they put the light too far back or something which made her appear pretty damn big. Then they actually showed her in her bathing suit and you could see she was a fairly robust woman.

So, to sum it up in legal terminology: Get lost, you bum.

She does possess an impressive physicality. Her IMDb profile lists her at 5 foot 6 inches, 37-25-38.

More to love!

I like this film because of the stunning Rhondas Fleming moments/scenes. Overall a dull movie.

By todays standards she was quite statuesque. She looked lovely on the screen for the 50's.

It isn't how "big" they are it's how well they are put together. Rhonda Fleming was indeed, very well put together :P

I liked this movie overall, though I thought the momentum did go down a little bit towards the end.

And Rhonda Fleming was well put together (and she is actually still lovely today). That scene in her bikini was a definite highlight!

reply

Oh yes. Oh my yes.

But in reality, that bikini was thick enough to keep her cold in an Arctic winter.

Probably true. Still, it was the only movie that I know where she does wear a bikini, unlike other features where she wore the standard one-piece, as did many other actresses during that time (and probably to meet the satisfaction of the Hayes Office).

I came here to express the same....Rhonda Flemming- What a Dish! 36-24-36 stories of her looks could fill books.....with hips that could sink ships....eyes that hypnotize.....She's a beauty beyond repute.

And I noted that the bottom half of the bikini was "granny panty" sized - no belly button showing, a la Barbara Eden in "I Dream of Jeannie". 😉

Look for her near the end of the film...her character changes into a form fitting white sweater, which the film makes known-Mrs Kyne comes into picture announcing "Thanks for letting me borrow the sweater" while making adjustments around the waist. The next scene is a close up of her in the hall at the top of the stairs and a cool breeze must've just blown in,cause it shows......WOW!!

reply

Yeah, Rhonda was nice to look at, but in this film I'd take Sally Forrest.  She filled out her sweater and office dresses just fine, was cute as heck, and there's something about a petite gal with short hair that just gets me every time. Yowza!
