DJ Qualls's best work

I had no idea he could do drama so well, or that he was so old.

Terrible joke aside I just saw this movie and loved it. Despite the title and the use of the memoirs giving away the ending, it's still so impressively suspenseful and you can't help but get emotionally involved and tensely wonder if the protagonist would make it from situation to situation. Incredible stuff.

Idk what it is, but so many of Bresson's nonprofessional actors look like Hollywood icons of today! The girl from Pickpocket looks almost exactly like Natalie Portman (although she's actually Eva Green's aunt).

The fact all the voice over narration is in the past tense is completely integral to the film's structure. It isn't a mistake or weakness of the film. Bresson is showing you that it is possible to make a film in a way that the audience can feel an extreme sense of dread and suspense, even though they have been told the film's outcome on the opening title card.

That guy's son though is Louis Letterier, the director of Transporter and Incredible Hulk.

Lol I thought the same things. Very similar.

Come at the king, you best not miss.

Ha ha, I also thought of Qualls a few times during this movie.

I am so glad someone else said this. I'm crying, haha. I was thinking the same thing the entire time.
