Why did the parents leave their children behind with supervisors when they fled the evacuation area? In real life, I don't think evacuating would do any good anyway. If I have my science facts straight, all life on earth would cease to exist upon collision.

Why wouldn't the crooks believe the Planet R reports after the evacuation and after notable scientists confirmed it?

Why do so many movie characters scoff about "little men" (sometimes "little green men") from other planets?

All that said, I like the U.S. version, though the Japanese version sounds better. Maybe the release of both versions of the Godzilla movies foreshadow the same for this and other Japanese sci-fi/horror films.
