Stunt doubles?

I know Burt Lancaster did his own stunts as he really was an acrobat before he became a movie star. What about Tony Curtis? It sure looks like he's doing his own , but does anybody know for sure.

The stuntdouble for Tony Curtis was my uncle Alessandro Nava. We just called him Sandro. He was born on the 9th November 1929 (I think), and he was italian, but he was born in Germany. His family had a circus, so he grew up as an acrobat.

His career as an acrobat stopped when he injured his arm very bad. I'm not really sure when that was.. He spoke english, italian, french, spanish, german, danish, swedish, and a little arabic. He met my aunt in the 70's (she was 25 years younger than him) and they got married. She was my uncle's (Sandro) fourth wife. They lived in Spain for many years, and we used to visit them every summer.

My uncle was a fun and really nice guy. He could do so many things, and I will always remember him for that. Sadly, he died 2 years ago. My aunt still lives in Spain. But she does visit us in Denmark once in a while.

My uncle was also a very talented singer, but he never really got famous because of that.

Sorry for my bad english, I'm danish :)

If anyone has any questions, I'll try to answer them :)

Your uncle Sandro sounds like he was truly amazing! Did he learn all the languages from traveling around in the circus?

Also sounds fun that you got to visit Spain every summer.

I love this movie, and watch it at least twice a year. Congratulations to your uncle for doing a brilliant job.
