Lollobrigida's double

This was the first movie I saw Lollobrigida in and was really turned on by her. I was recently disturbed to learn that a man was her stunt double for this movie. How much of what I saw on the trapeze was actually a man?! What about that scene early in the movie where she climbs a rope and kind of twirls around and burt watches. Was that a man twirling around? And the trapeze scenes? Was that all a man? I feel it was a mean trick for the director to do that.
