Aspect Ratio

IMDB says this movie is 1.85:1, but TCM showed it today cropped to 1.33:1. Too bad, especially with all of the spectacular visuals.

I was wondering the same. People looked ridiculous at 1.33:1.

The people looked normal because the picture was cropped, not compressed from the sides, which would have distorted them. However, much of the composition was lost in the parts that were cut off.

According to IMDB it's 1.85 :1.or in the TV world 16x9. Just watched to movie on Amazon Prime video and its definitely 16x9. . Love these old movies and the technology like cars, planes, trad ins etc.
