Underrated

This is a highly underrated film. It's a thinly disguised look at Bob Ford, Jesse James' killer. Tiomkin's score is wonderful & Egan is given one of his best parts. The ending, where Kelley decides not to ride out of town is the forerunner for John Davis Chandler's scene in THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES.

Marvelous Western.

It was a good film in terms of dealing with the themes of masculinity through Sheriff Miller and redemption through Wes. It made for entertaining viewing even though it was predictable.
