At the end of the movie we saw clearly the two rodans burned in flames and yet one rodan appeared later in many fodzilla movies.
How is this explained ?
Could it be their som wh got out of the egg at the beginning of the movie ?
Caught Rodan today and was thinking this very thing. I think that because there are eggs about it's just not that much of a stretch to say there is another. Of course I like the idea that our current Rodan is the child of the two that die at the end of this film. Gonna be awkward when he finally asks about his parents.
shareThe Rodan in the later films emerged from Mount Aso, where the original Rodans died. So, it is probable that one of them survived, and was just buried in a rock slide. I watched closely at the end of RODAN, and you never actually see the last Rodan die. It flaps around in the flames all the way through the end, so it could easily have survived. I mean Rodan can take a blast of Godzilla's nuclear breath to the face, and not back off. King Kong and Mothra in the films before were unable to do that.

They both died in the lava at the end of the original. Obviously the two eggs that hatched the original pair, were not the only eggs.
shareIt's heavily implied that one of the Rodans survived being submerged in lava and was dormant in the Mt. Aso crater for a few years before being awakened by gas accumulation. Given Rodan's affinity for fire and resistance to Godzilla's atomic breath, it's not that far-fetched.
