First saw it as a kid when I stayed up way late one night. Back then channels like TNT had stuff like "100% Weird". It was around 5 AM and this movie came on. Freaking awesome :)

One of my favorites out of the Toho 'stable'; I recall having some fun with my young daughter when we first watched this a few moons ago--we were watching a PBS Travel show & the narrator referred to the French artist Rodin, but because of the pronunciation, my daughter thought he was the creature.
So I went with it & said Rodin the artist got tired of art & sculpting so he changed careers to become a 'suit-mation' actor with Toho studios--and that is why that particular monster is called 'Rodan'.
Why can't you wretched prey creatures understand that the Universe doesn't owe you anything!?
