lobbing them down one by one down
it's hatch one by one like tic tacs.
I think it ate the dad first. I remember
it as a kid because that scene just
cracked me up.

There is no such scene in Rodan, I'm afraid. The only scene that comes close is when Rodan hatches inside the monstrous cave, and he begins eating the gargantuan caterpillar thingys like they were worms.
There is a scene in "Reptilicus", which was made in Denmark in 1962 or so. The sequence involves the monster going after a farmhouse and what appears to be a cartoon drawing of the father gets eaten. They couldn't even build a miniture dad to get swallowed by the monster! It's a freaking drawing!
The special effects in "Reptilicus" are so bad they can't really be called special. What the movie is good for is a lot of unintentional laughs! As far as I know, it's available on MGM's "Midnight Movies" series of DVDs.
