Colin Petersen - the perfect Smiley

This film was shown on FXM last night and I caught it quite by accident. The story was simple and clearly intended for a juvenile audience; the colors of the print were largely washed out; but the young actor - in what was clearly his first role - made it all worthwhile. His performance was both naive and utterly convincing. He was clearly living in much the same environment as his character. (One giveaway: he and his friend could both run barefoot at full tilt - a feat possible only for those who spent much of their lives unshod.) I don't know whether his other two films still exist or if they do whether they will ever appear in the U.S. but I will certainly look for them. He was a little wonder.
