Was this picture originally shown in 3D?

I ask because I watched it this afternoon and all of the shots are presented in such a way that it was either released in 3D, or that was the original intentions, but the producers changed their minds. Everything is so obviously in the fore ground from start to finish, as if the characters, horses and still images are meant to be protruding out of the screen.

You're not the only person who's noticed this. Many shots are multi-layered, and there are often objects in the foreground that don't really need to be there.

I was particularly impressed with the fight scenes, which use 3D in an understated way.

I doubt that many things in this film are intended to "protrude" from the screen. Such an effect (produced by negative parallax) must be used sparingly and briefly, or it becomes Really Annoying.

What's surprising is not so much that it was shot in 3D, but that it apparently was made well after the 3D bubble burst.

Thanks for replying to my post, grizzlegeezer. I often see movies from that era which make me think that the angles they were shot at must have been in 3D. I watched an old Disney movie last night, Kidnapped, that too had scenes that gave me that impression. Unfortunately for me, 3D movies are out of the question these days. I get blinding headaches trying to watch them. Dunno why, but I avoid them nowadays. Cheers and thanks again for your reply.
