A decade of heavy drinking will do that to you. Poor lady.

Oh, well, Ed, at least her older appearance works better when being cast opposite the much older Randolph Scott, for those who can't get over it when it comes to age correctness in casting

To me, while not able to pass for 25, she still looked very attractive, with those beautiful eyes of hers. Have to admit, though, I thought I would lose it if I heard her say "more coffee?" one more time! Not her fault, of course, rather the script's. What a sad story this beautiful lady had!

I thought she looked quite a bit older, too. Like someone said, heavy drinking will do that. Still, it kind of worked in the movie - whatever we may think as an audience, the Lee Marvin character had been on the trail for a while, and, well, she was attractive enough. It doesn't seem wrong in terms of story-telling for him to be smitten.
