More Coffee?

After watching SEVEN MEN FROM NOW I brewed a whole pot, though I'm sure it didn't taste nearly as good as when brewed and poured by the beautiful Gail Russell.

I love the scene where Lee Marvin empties his cup just so Russell can come over and fill it afresh. What a card. And what a cad. When Marvin is goading Greer in the wagon, talking about a man "short on spine" who loved and lost a beautiful wife, what does Scott tell Marvin to do? "Drink your coffee!"

I suspect Folgers and Maxwell House were silent partners on this picture. They certainly benefited from the film's motif of a beautiful woman pouring endless cups of coffee for rugged cowboys. Give me Gail Russell over Mrs. Olsen any day!

I was amused when, earlier in the movie, Stride moved in on the two baddies having their coffee. He asked for a cup of coffee, and lo and behold, there was already a third cup ready there for him to fill.
