Does John Wayne mime the F word?

Just after Ward Bond throws his hat at him during the shootout at the river it looks like he mimes ***k you Sam".

Any one notice? I've watched it back a few times and I'm sure he does. What do you think?

Yeah it sure does seem like he's cussing at him and is genuinely ticked off at Bond for throwing the hat at him. Wayne does some great acting in the movie but his expression looks like he was genuinely pissed off.

Haha, I read this post so just went back and rewatched the scene, and you are right! He sure does say it. I wonder if he mouthed it, or he said it out loud and they dubbed it out in post? Most likely the former as Ward Bond does not react at all, and I dare say he would have!
