Comanche pronounciation
Just watched the movie for the first time. Why does John Wayne pronounce comanche without the e? Wahfs the significancw?

Trivia: The word "Comanche" means enemy in the Ute language. Most First Nation tribes called themselves simply "the people." The names by which we know many tribes are names taken from other Native languages, and are usually pejorative.
