This film has disappeared...

You dont see it offered on cable, it never played the local stations sci-fi offerings, and is nota on video of any sort.
There are worse movies out than this.
I remember seeing it in LA, when I was kid on one of the many 'Chiller Theater' type TV programs, then on nearly very station.

Warner Home Video is releasing this film on a doublebill with "World Without End" on July 29. The DVD will be sold exclusively at Best Buy. Suggested retail price is $16.99.

When there's no more room in hell, The dead will walk the earth...

reply

Nope it hasn't. It's part of a 4 movie collection from Turner Classic Movies on DVD. Them, The beast from 20,000 fathoms and World Without end are bundled together with it.

reply

Yes, plus it's still available in its original double-feature DVD with just World Without End. Both sets are in print and for sale on all major DVD outlets. Don't know why Xcalat3 can't find it.

reply

it is on in a few minutes on the turner classic movie channel...I am about to watch it

reply

I'm watching it right now!

I had never seen it before though I think I saw practically every sci fi movie released in the early Fifties thanks to my genre-loving father. To go to the drive-in was a 40-mile round trip, but those memories are eternal~well, as long as I survive. Those childhood delights include "Tobor the Great", "The Space Children" and "Gog".

Yeah, yeah TCM shows the hell outta this flick...it's on tomorrow...Of course if you're reading this the day after tommorrow then this post is useless right now.

Enjoying it right now, haven't seen it since I was a kid, watching it late at night on our black & white TV with my dad. With all the current technology we enjoy, the ideas are quite advanced compared to others produced in the 50s. A few hokey Fx, and the blast off scene...what a hoot! Car seat belts, no helmets, janitor suits, funny stuff.
