Even though some of these acts were well known at the time this was filmed, something struck me odd about the song selection. Except for Juvenile Delinquent all of these songs seem to be unknown and never became popular. Did they purposely use "B" sides because it was cheaper?
shareYou mean "Juvenile Delinquent" was popular? I thought it was the worst of the lot. In any event, I don't think the movie used the B sides because they were cheaper. I suspect that Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers would have been paid the same if they had performed their biggest hit, "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?" I got the feeling that this movie was pushing these second rate songs in hopes of turning them into hits. Needless to say, it didn't work.
