question about the final scene

The horse that was used to carry Richard away had some Latin words on its muzzle. Does anyone know what they are and what they mean in English? Just curious.

I believe you may be referring to the garter on Richard's leg as he was carried away on the horse. The Most Noble Order of the Garter. It is the English order of chivalry. I believe the latin reads: "Evil to him who evil thinks." Thus making it a rather fitting closing shot.

Your translation is correct, thinkkam, but it's not Latin it's Anglo Norman, which was used here in mediaeval times. Actually, the first word apart, it's the same as modern French.
