This is a good movie!
And the fight at the end between Rory Calhoun and Neville Brand is outstanding.

shareYes, I thought so too, and the interplay with Rex Reason's character is interesting. However, on the whole, this Western is merely typical of movie Westerns of the 1950s and isn't very memorable. Rex Reason's next Western, THE BADLANDS OF MONTANA (Fox-Regalscope, 1957) is much more involving, and has some really amazing violence in it for a 1950s Western movie.

Interesting premise but standard action scenes.
Yes, Rex said it was just a "routine Western" and he of course would have preferred doing some real acting in a big-budget movie, but those were few and far between for him unfortunately. He certainly deserved to be acting in first-class films. At least he starred in THIS ISLAND EARTH. That was his best picture and his personal favorite.

This is a great film with a fine cast of real male actors.
The 1930's thru 1959.........all the westerns were/are tops.
I found it to be pretty mediocre as far as westerns go.
my rating 5.5/10
