That's what Ahab looks like in this version.

Why is everyone so preoccupied with being right? What's the matter with being wrong?

While critics chided Peck's "Lincoln-ness" in the film, every interpretation of Capt. Ahab since his performance has worn a black coat and black stovepipe hat, none of which is described in the novel.

I know this is an old post, but I just had to comment.

I actually just watched my DVD of this movie tonight (haven't watched it in a few years) and OMG, I totally agree with you!

When Gregory Peck first came on, my first thought was, "Gee, he looks just like Abraham Lincoln!"

BTW did you like the movie? I thought it was excellent!
