Just saw this for the first time on TCM, and was completely enchanted by Jane Wyman's performance in it.

Watching her light up around Van Johnson's character in this movie just broke my heart.

Hard not to believe she was actually the love-starved 'Ruth' who comes to life the moment 'Art' blows into her world like the hurricane of light, lively joy that he was, dragging her out of her drab little world and changing her life forever.

HIGHLY recommended for those who have never seen it!

I too have just seen this movie for the first time.I cried.
What a great performance by the two leads.
Loved it.
