The dvd box said widescreen, the label on dvd said widescreen, yet information on imdb said aspect ratio was 1:37. Which is correct? Information on box states that black bars were normal for this widescreen presentation. Saw no black bars. Just curious.
shareI don't know what the original aspect ratio is, but the version that Turner Classic Movies shows is definitely widescreen. I'd guess 1.85:1. However, this may just be a matte, as the heads of many characters have a tendency to be awfully close to the edge of the frame. Some heads are even slightly cut off. I think this is usually a sign of a wrong matte size, but I might be wrong.
