As good as it gets....Rsgre48@yah oo.com

Add this to Citizen Kane as one of the best films of all time. But it's not pretentious as Citizen Kane was, but instead it's rather understated and subtle in it's message. Not just a coincidence either that Bernard Herrmann scored this one too, he knew a good project when he saw one. Ahh...those fabulous 1950's, they are long gone now, but not forgotten by those of us who grew up in that era.
I wrote a formal review to this movie as well, if anybody cares to read it...any comments would be appreciated.

Best regards,

Steve G.

hey steve
saw this CLASSIC on amc or some cable channel back in the early 90s...i was deeply moved by the performances, the score, and the themes. the idea of all these men returning to "normal" life after experiencing such traumas is one seldom explored. that it occurs in flashbacks makes it all the more visionary for me. highly recommended!

On FMC last night. One of my favorite films. I "twin" this with "The Best Years Of Our Lives" as films dealing with veterans adjusting to post-war America.
