Anthony Quinn's performance was a good 20+ minutes.

People often include him lists of shortest screen time for an Oscar winner/nominee. Well, I half-assedly clocked it, and he was in it for at least 20 minutes. And he makes a big impact when he's on screen, so that 20 minutes doesn't just include walking around with Douglas. Certainly nothing that struck me as a particularly short performance. He was also worthy of the win on the merits of the performance itself, though I'm not sure he should have won for Viva Zapata or have 2 Oscars, even with Zorba being a bit rangier for him.

Quinn was perfect in the role. A lot of people didn't like him, but after all he was a braggart, very rough around the edges, pompous, but dressed with imagination!!! See this website for more. . . . excellent profile.
