I've just about despaired of ever seeing this under-appreciated Tashlin CinemaScope opus in its proper aspect ratio, but before I do, I thought I should ask here if anyone knows where a copy in letterboxed format might be obtained.

The Lieutenant Wore Skirts is now available on a proper DVD released by 20th Century Fox. This is a good DVD with excellent picture quality and sound. It's a DVD-R so it will be Region free and play on DVD players throughout the world.
