pretty tame, ultimately, and actually a fairly good movie

Don't expect a lot of exciting nudity here; it's not like that. Granted, for 1956, it's racy, but the film isn't meant as a peep show -- at least, not by today's standards. It's got a story to tell, and it does so fairly well. I gave it 6/10 for staying interesting all the way through and developing some of the characters well enough that I cared about them.

I'd have liked to know a bit more of what Tanga thought about the western world, and what stories he told when he returned to Africa.
