I believe dubbing in musicals to be only acceptable in biopics. Deborah Kerr should have been replaced by someone who didn't need dubbing-I'd have chosen Vera Lynn.

Vera Lynn was a singer not an actress.

Jeanne, Gloria, Toby, Mitzi, Eleanor (2), Frances, Deborah, Marion, Alice, Darcey - are adorable.

Vera Lynn would not have been cast in this mega bucks R&H musical, after making three B movies during the war!

i'm sure they needed an established actress so vera lynn wouldn't have been a sensible choice

Most major musicals of that time dubbed the leading actors.
