Was the scenic view of the ranch a real shot or was it a painted backdrop?
Very beautiful vista.
I had the same question as that panorama unfolded. I'd have to say it was a painted backdrop. It just didn't look quite "real."

I'm convinced the bird's eye view of the ranch was enhanced by matte painting. I love these shots, they create a sort of hyper-realism which really adds to the picture.

There is no question that the ranch is actually pasted in the foreground of an actual shot of the mountains. AS a matter of fact you can see it is totally not a good match for the actual backdrop.
