Never Trust The Airlines!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!Spoilers!!!!!!!!!

How can he trust the airline to handle a bag with 2 Million Dollars in it? Why would he not just take a bus or a train? I understand that he wants to disappear quickly, but I can't see anyone just handing that suitcase over. Aside from that unrealism, it's a wonderful picture.

He was spotted by the officer when he comes out onto the racetrack floor, so he's trying to split and quick. He haggles over it, too, doesn't he? It was a calculated risk, anyway, odds were in his favor overwhelmingly that something like that wouldn't happen, though there was some potential for lost luggage or it opening up (and it only opens up because of a choice he made to get that piece of luggage)

The critical mistake was buying a. an oversize suitcase he couldn't carry on, and b. buying a lousy one that didn't have properly working mechanisms. Greed of trying to take all 2 mil and haste of getting a rinky-dinkcase (why didn't he already have something to take his original cut with?) Most people don't get away with these types of heists (unless they jump out of a plane I guess) so I wouldn't say it was unrealistic that a couple mistakes might be made along the way that ended up exposing him.

I don't know. The only person I can really speak for is myself, and I know there is no way that I am handing over a briefcase carrying a few Million Dollars in it. Probably not even a few Thousand Dollars. Great movie though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not like he was trying to, hell, he makes a bit of a scene about it, but he screwed up earlier and/or was too greedy to take all the money and so it went...

Seriously, I don't know why folks are going on and on about "the over-sized suitcase in the passenger area." Johnny pushed about as hard as he could to get that thing on the flight. Only when the check-in manager offered a refund on their tickets did Johnny relent.

Watta ya lookn here for?

The irony is that he covers lots of bases and just about gets away, but he did make the big deal about getting the largest suitcase that he could find, which cost him plenty.🐭

After the heist, he jams all the money into that over-sized case and then finds that none of the keys included actually work in the locks This was nice attention to detail. Had any of those keys worked, the suitcase would not have burst open when it did.

He may have been unable to carry-on a bag of that size on a train or bus either.

Great movie but this is the part that annoys me. I don't understand why he didn't just leave the airport with the bag, lay low in a hotel for a few days, buy a car, then drive to Boston. Granted, with him deciding to check the bag lead to this great ironic ending of a little poodle ruining it all.

It reminded me so much of the time the airlines forced me to check in my carry-on bag because they claimed they had no overhead room...

They accidentally sent my carry-on bag to the wrong location
