Currently 50 pages into writing a re-imagining of the film!

Hey all!


I'm a writer/critic in Australia and I've been a fan of this film for such a long time. It really holds up well and was truly unique for its time. The combination of a non-liner narrative and wonderful narration from Art Gilmore are aspects that make it so memorable (even though I know Kubrick hated the narration). I really want to see this adapted for modern day times and that's what I'm currently in the process of doing. I'm about 50 pages into a re-write and restructure. Some pivotal scenes remain the same, as do the characters but there's mostly new dialogue in modern form and plenty of new and improved scenarios that play as far more believable than anything we've seen in the 56' film. I'm having a blast adapting this and at the moment it's just for fun (creative writing and such) but I'm really hoping to see how it's received.

Any thoughts people :) ???
