Right after Poole escapes, the cops are studying close up pictures of his face. One cop points to an area of Poole's head and says "Darwinian extension". I looked up Darwinian extension, and didn't understand any of it, but saw nothing about a part of somebody's head.
shareI think they are referring to Foggy's ear. There's someone's head in the way so you can't see exactly where the pointer is poiting to on the overhead projector's image. Google "Darwinian ear" or "Darwin's tubercle" (aka auricular tubercle). Those terms refer to two different abberations in a person's ear - in the outer semi-circumferential fold (helix) in particular.
