Brain Bats of Venus by Wolverton

Any old, pre-code comic book fans out there? One of the greatest horror/sci-fi stories from that era was Basil Wolverton's "Brain Bats of Venus". I was wondering if it was the inspiration for ICTW? I'm not saying that Corman and company ripped the story off, but there are some definite similarities between the two. It originally appeared in Mister Mystery #7 from 1952. Since the movie came out a couple years later, it makes sense that it could've inspired someone to write a similar screenplay. Anyway, if you've never read it, you can check it out here: http://www.brainplucker.com/wolvertons-brain-bats-of-venus/

And speaking of inspiration, I think Beulah definitely was the inspiration for the monsters on "Sigmund and the Sea Monsters". Anybody remember Sigmund? It was one of those live-action, Sid and Marty Krofft, Saturday morning children's TV programs. Beulah was much better, though - more menacing.
