Is IT the Beast of Revelation?

First of all, I'm not a Fundamentalist, so I'm not insisting on this interpretation. However, I wonder ...

Is there a tie-in between this movie and the events in the book of Revelation? Lee Van Cleef (Tom Anderson) and "Carrot Top" would be the two beasts of Revelation 12 and 13, and the flying bats would implant the "Mark of the Beast" on every else (who would have to die).

More tie-ins:

1. Every appliance stops running.

2. The "invasion" takes place just after 3:00 pm, which (traditionally) was when Jesus Christ was crucified. The 3:00 pm time is supposed to make a "mockery" of JC, according to Revelation and its interpretations.

It's not a perfect match, of course, but it might have been a theme that the writer decided to include.
