Lee Van Cleef

Haven't seen this movie in quite awhile.

Does LVC have a line in this that goes something like, "That alien is a personal friend of mine"?

Yeah, I think that's pretty much verbatim. He was kinda gay for the space monster. Thought he's be the little sidekick in world domination.

The dialogue goes like this:

Paul: A superior intelligence has come from Venus in my satellite, established residency, turned off the world's power, and is about to take over the world's population. Why aren't you fighting it?
Tom: Because this superior intelligence happens to be a personal friend of mine. I believe he's here to rescue Mankind, not to conquer it as you have naturally concluded.
Joan: A personal friend of yours?
Claire: Real chums.

I saw this one quite awhile back and thought it was pretty good for the period. This is what Peter Graves cut his teeth on and he went on to a very successful career. Lee Van Cleef certainly got way out of his comfort zone on this one but he and Peter Graves did well. I always enjoyed Lee Van Cleef's westerns more than anything else which includes his work in TV before TGTBTU. I enjoyed the rest of his parts but never could get into the character he played as "The Master" which would also qualify for getting out of his comfort zone. I commend Mr. Van Cleef for not being afraid to stretch his acting muscles and try new things. We certainly lost him way too soon at 64. Rest in Peace Lee and Peter and Beverly. I think she is also gone and if not, I hope she is enjoying her life.

For those of you who don't already know, four episodes of The Master were featured on MST3K as Master Ninja and Master Ninja 2. And DEMI MOORE was in the first one!
