Laugh, Clown, Laugh

I happen to love this film, particularly the middle part, "Ring Around the Rosy," which I think has one of the best and sexiest dance numbers Gene Kelly ever did. The plot and some of the action of the first part, "Circus," were inspired by, if not directly lifted from, "Laugh, Clown, Laugh," the Lon Chaney silent film of 1928. That's a good one, and the 2002 score by H. Scott Salinas gives it a great poignancy.
