Even Grace Kelly's voice was copying Katharine

These two actors are in my top 10 of actors but I definitely was disappointed to watch just mimicry in this remake. I loved Kelly in Rear Window and copying not only the mannerisms but the voice was a bit distracting.

Oh, IDK, KH and GK both spoke with Upper-Crusty inflection. And Grace was actually from the area where the films are set (Philadelphia's Main Line), I'd imagine she was pretty well acquainted with the area's speech patterns. I'm personally willing to give her the benefit of any doubt in that area.

The Misses Hepburn and Kelly, although both Easterners (Connecticut and Eastern Pennsylvania), spoke with Mid-Atlantic accents, as did Laurence Harvey (Lithuania/South Africa) and as does Norman Lloyd (Brooklyn). Miss Hepburn's enunciation might have been developed at school growing up but you can take to the bank that the others acquired theirs during dramatic training.
