British Cold War jets

Great to watch a film featuring some of these beautiful aircraft, such as the Vampire and the Hunter. Rarely seen at all in any films, never mind in glorious technicolour. Some of the aerial photogaphy is first-rate. As a story, it's pretty lame but, like the Battle of Britain movie, the real stars are the aircraft.

One amusing aspect that illustrated more innocent times: the night before a dawn mission in fast jets, the pilots were all getting merrily drunk in the finest traditions of the RAF. Very different today, I believe, where there is a strict alcohol ban at least 24 hours before any flight. I might be wrong, though. Can anyone confirm?
