Censored?

I was watching the film (taped off TCM the other month), and it sounds like there's an audio edit in one of Sgt. Payne's lines - it sounds like a word is muted or distorted. It's in the scene after they bury Hodges, after Kim says the enemy is close, Payne and the CO get into an argument, and Payne says "they'll have us on a plate." His mouth keeps moving between "a" and "plate," though, but nothing comes out - was that edited to remove something? It can't be "damn" (since Kim used it moments earlier), maybe "bloody" (TCM showed the British print, under the title A Hill in Korea, so maybe the word was cut out for British audiences?), and nothing stronger would have made it into the script at that time, so... I'm pretty sure there's an edit, though.

I've just seen it on a UK TV broadcast. I see what you mean, but I'm pretty sure it's just Harry Andrews' delivery of the line.
There is a fraction more space between "a" and "plate" than some people would have given. His top lip is moving in between but it's because he draws his top lip further down than usual to form the plosive "p" - something which gives the "plate" more emphasis.
